A component Blu-ray Disc Player or Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console playing a Blu-ray movie is currently the best way to feed up to Full HD 1080p high definition video and up to 7.1 channels of digital surround sound audio content to your home theater system.

Blu-ray Disc players can also play and even up-convert "conventional" DVD movies to 1080p although they won't look quite as nice as Blu-ray movies. Not only that, your music CDs will also play on a Blu-ray player.

Sony's PlayStation 3 console takes it one step further, allowing you to enjoy the latest video games in Full HD 1080p resolution with multi-channel surround sound.
