Video projection screens are available in lots of shapes and sizes. However, for the purposes of this website, a home theater projection screen refers to one that is shaped with Width x Height dimensions in a 16:9 aspect ratio, also referred to as HDTV format. Unlike most high definition television programming, movies are often filmed in wider aspect ratios, so you'll see thin black bars at the top and bottom edges of your projection screen.

Common types of front projection screens include:
